Hello Wildwood!

…down in the Gogomain Swamp

Beginning is always hard…

I feel like there have been far too many beginnings in our life together, and I long for that peaceful continuance that comes with established things. But here we are again…beginning.

I’ll keep this short as I know you time is precious as is mine.

This New Beginning is described so well in the words of my husband on our “about the Farm” page:

Our Farm is located in the Wild and Remote Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

We are a start-up farm focusing on Lavender, Elderberry, Maple Syrup, and Lumber through the utilization of sustainable harvesting of storm-damaged trees.

Our passion for the outdoors and the remote location of the property has led us to want to cultivate plants that will thrive in our challenging region with minimal artificial influences.

There is abundant wildlife on the farm.

Our co-inhabitants are bear, bobcat, wolves, coyote, deer, wild turkey, ruffed and sharp-tail grouse as well as a plethora of songbirds.  It isn’t uncommon to see a bald eagle soaring overhead.  Sandhill Cranes are also common visitors.

We look forward to our upcoming challenge of establishing our farm and sharing the bounty of this land that we have been so blessed to inhabit.

this is the most recent visit to the farm (february ’24) – we tapped some Maples and checked on the test plants from last year…

We would love to have you follow our progress HERE

Lavender & Wood Artisan Products will be coming soon!
